Britain’s Got Talent came to a sudden halt after a young boy fell off his scooter.
Six-year-old Austin took to the London Palladium stage on Saturday night (April 16) along with Tyler, 10, Red, eight, and Tyler, eight – the other members of the Scooter Boys.
The four young daredevils attempted to do jumps and other intricate tricks on a series of skate ramps in a bid to impress judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
Shortly after Simon recognised that it looked “very dangerous”, the boys revealed their dream was to build their own skatepark and "to get scootering in on the Olympics".
Equipped with mouth guards and helmets, the young athletes started their performance and began to speed up and down the ramps.
However, just seconds into their performance, Austin lost his balance and went crashing to the floor.
Amanda immediately put her hands on her face and worryingly gasped “oh oh oh” as the music came to a stop.
Austin was quickly carried off stage by a member of the crew as Alesha said: “He looks like he’s really hurt himself.”
A few moments later, Austin triumphantly returned and the Palladium erupted with cheers.
Ant McPartlin walked on stage and asked: “Austin, are you okay?” while Declan Donnelly reassured the youngster: “Take your time.”
Their second performance went perfectly, and the boys mastered several intricate tricks and heart-stopping stunts over the ramps.
Halfway through their routine, six-year-old Austin courageously laid on top of the ramps while his friends launched over him.
The end of their performance was met with a mighty round of applause from the audience and a standing ovation from the judges.
After they finished, Simon asked: “Is everyone alright?” which was met with a united: “Yeah.”
Simon continued: “Good for you, getting back on after that, that took guts.”
Amanda added: “My heart was in my mouth throughout all of that.”
Simon told the boys that he is never letting his son Eric watch their audition, while David joked: “I love seeing children risk their lives for entertainment.”
Despite the shaky start, it was a unanimous decision from the judges and the Scooter Boys sailed through to the next round of the competition.
