Call The Midwife's Helen George stuns fans with striking hair transformation after split from partner | The Sun

CALL The Midwife star Helen George has shared her hair transformation ahead of a new acting role and splitting from her partner.

It was rumoured the actress would be exiting Call The Midwife show soon as the BBC prepared for its upcoming Christmas special.

Call The Midwife’s Helen, who plays Trixie Franklin, opted for a platinum blonde wig, a stark contrast to her long, brunette locks.

The BBC star took to Instagram and shared her cute new look in a rare mirror selfie taken in a dressing room.

In her story, Helen showcased the bright, side-parted bob while wearing a black polo neck and dark trousers with a subtle make-up look.

In the foreground of the snap, pink and white flowers and a bottle of champagne could be seen.

In July, Olly split from his makeup artist girlfriend of seven years, Natasha Fagri, claiming they ended the relationship due to work commitments.

Meanwhile during the summer Helen separated from her partner, Jack Ashton, with whom she shares two young children, Wren, five, and Lark, two.

At the time of the break-up, the 39-year-old shared a statement that said: "Some months ago, we separated. Our two beautiful girls remain the focus, and I respectfully ask for privacy for this next chapter."

The former couple, who are now co-parenting their children, first met in 2016 after filming the Call the Midwife Christmas special in South Africa.

A few weeks before the couple split up and after watching Trixie tie the knot in series 12, Jack spoke of his "nostalgic" time on the show.

In June,  he told What To Watch: "I'm pleased Trixie tied the knot last series. Trixie's far too beautiful not to have a husband!"

Reports have claimed that Helen's new on-screen husband, Olly, would be written out of the drama in the upcoming season 13, along with Helen herself.

But according to HELLO! the actress is not exiting the show at the end of season 13, and Olly will be appearing in series 13, from start to finish, with the door left open for his character to return.

Earlier this month, the show's official Instagram account posted a behind-the-scenes photo of actor Cliff Parisi, who plays Fred Buckle, with an update that indicated filming for season 13 and the Christmas special is getting wrapped.

The BBC has yet to confirm an official release date for the Christmas special, but it has been confirmed that season 13 will air in 2024.
