Captain Tom Moore and Michael Ball are reportedly set to perform at the Britain’s Got Talent final after seeing chart success with their NHS charity single.
We’re already sold on it to be honest.
The pair teamed up for their charity single You’ll Never Walk Alone (a cover of the Gerry and the Pacemakers song), which is absolutely smashing it in the charts, and Simon Cowell’s talent show could be next.
An insider told The Sun: ‘The whole nation has been totally blown away by Tom so what could be better than getting him on board for the BGT final, which is a celebration of everything that makes this country great.
‘With the lockdown, it’s all up in the air at the moment in terms of dates for the live shows but BGT are determined to get back on air later this year.’
The insider added: ‘Tom is at the top of the production team’s wish list, so it’s just a waiting game now… it would be a huge coup for the show.’
Michael is no stranger to the show, having performed with previous runner-up Susan Boyle last year.
Captain Tom, 99, has raised a whopping £27 million (and counting) for the NHS amid the coronavirus pandemic by walking 100 lengths of his garden before his 100th birthday.
You’ll Never Walk Alone has hit the ground running becoming this week’s highest new entry on the UK singles chart with close to 36,000 copies after 48 hours, according to the Official Charts.

It places Captain Tom an impressive 22,000 chart sales ahead of The Weeknd’s monster hit Blinding Lights, which has spent eight weeks at number one in the country.
It’s all for a good cause with 100% of proceeds from You’ll Never Walk Alone set to be donated to Captain Tom Moore’s 100th Birthday Walk in aid of NHS Charities Together, which supports the incredible NHS staff and volunteers caring for Covid-19 patients.
Michael said of teaming up with the Second World War veteran on the track: ‘What an honour it’s been. @captaintommoore you are a true inspiration for everybody.
‘And, of course, we couldn’t have done this without the amazing NHS Voices for Care Choir. The download link for the single is in my bio and 100% of the proceeds will be going towards Tom’s walk fund. Let’s get him to No.1 for his 100th birthday!’
