Paige (played by Shalisha James-Davis) made her debut on Casualty last weekend, with her introduction to the Holby City Emergency Department being a rather memorable one. In Saturday night’s episode, she will make her return in her scrubs as she gears herself up to get into the thick of the action and learn all she can about becoming a doctor. However, with the sinister character Stevie (Elinor Lawless) still lurking around the BBC medical drama, the newcomer could find her days numbered on the television show.
Last year, Stevie was introduced to viewers as a new member of the ED who was ready to get stuck in and help as many patients as possible.
It soon became clear she had a grievance with Ethan Hardy (George Rainsford), who she blamed heavily for the death of her sister in the hospital years before.
As she struggled to be around the father-of-one, her mission to hurt him as he had hurt her was becoming ever more evident.
The culmination of the storyline saw her threaten him with a knife on the roof of the hospital but once the pair had a heart-to-heart, their relationship was reestablished.
Stevie became just an average doctor with her initial storyline having run its course, but this could have been the birth of a new killer on the show.
Unfortunately, it seems Paige could become her next victim as it seems they are going to be working a lot closer together.
The upcoming episode of the Saturday night medical drama will begin with Paige arriving for her shift and reintroducing herself to some of the members of the team.
At first, she will believe Ethan is her mentor as she thinks she is looking for a man named Steve but it will transpire Stevie is the person she was looking for.
Known for cracking the whip and not taking any prisoners, Stevie puts the newcomer to work and makes relentless demands of her.
Of course, this could just be the doctor wanting to put the new team member through her paces to see how much she can handle.

However, it could emerge Stevie has another reason for wanting to keep pushing her mentee as she could have real trouble trying to get along with her.
Whereas the sinister character seems to be a lot blunter than many of her colleagues, Paige is very timid and more conversational with the patients.
Stevie could think this is very different to how she was taught and could take it upon herself to monitor the newcomer.
As it seems Paige is becoming quite popular amongst the team, Stevie could become jealous as she feels this isn’t how she was welcomed in.
With yet another grievance to put against the young doctor, Stevie could think it is time to silence her once and for all.
There hasn’t been a villain on the show since Tina Mollet’s (Adele James) abuse storyline with Jacob Masters (Charles Venn) came to an end last year.
Therefore, Stevie could step into that role and become the serial killer of Holby City hospital by administering her victims with dangerous drugs.
This is how she could get rid of Paige as once she had got her on her own, she could inject her with the harmful solution.
Leaving the newcomer gasping for breath, Stevie could walk away and leave one of her colleagues to find the doctor’s lifeless body.
As an investigation begins into how the young medic ended up dead, will anyone suspect Stevie is the killer?
Following last week’s first episode since the Christmas break, the actress who plays Paige, Shalisha, has spoken about her new role which saw arrive in the ED handcuffed to a criminal.
The soap star said: “Paige is a junior doctor. It’s her first year and it’s her first professional job.
“My first impressions of Paige, I was a bit like, ‘Wow, she’s a doctor and she’s acting this wild. She’s not serious’.
“But she does have such a big heart and I think that’s important as a doctor,” she continued before talking about her character’s relationship with Stevie.
“I think with her mentor, there’s a difference between being like someone who is sucking up and someone that has such a drive to be really good and just do everything properly and to the best that she can.”
“And I think in doing that, she can annoy people a little bit,” the actress explained, hinting Paige and Stevie will not get on.
However, Shalisha added: “She’s really cool and I think she exudes positive energy and a [real] love for life that can sometimes cloud a lot of reality.
“And I think that’s where it can get a little bit sticky for Paige but I love her and I think she’s great,” the soap star continued.
But just how long will Paige be sticking around as Stevie’s reign of terror continues?
Casualty continues Saturday at 9:30pm on BBC One.
