Casualty spoilers: Rash in danger as he's kidnapped by Hafsa's gang

Casualty doctor Rash Masum (Neet Mohan) is in deep trouble in tonight’s episode, when he’s grabbed by thugs and bundled into a car boot.

Rash has recently found himself being doctor-on-call for one side of the gang warfare between Holby’s notorious Farmead and Bridgeway estates, after Hafsa (Zainab Hasan) the sister of one of his oldest friends, initially persuaded him she was just trying to keep young people out of trouble and off the streets.

By the time Rash realised that Hafsa was the head of a violent drugs gang his father ended up in hospital after an encounter with them – and Rash decided enough was enough and called the police.

Tonight Rash fears for his life as he’s taken to a remote location, and when Hafsa appears he realises how much danger he’s in. The gang know that someone has betrayed them, and they want revenge. Will he make it out alive?

We met the character of Paula Kettering (Rosie Jones) back in February. Paula was an aggressive, argumentative alcoholic, but as the episode went on we learned some of the reasons for her bad behaviour. Her mother had recently died, she was in constant pain and all the support systems that should have helped her had failed her.

When Paula returns in tonight’s episode, she’s sober but still argumentative. Against all the odds considering their personalities, a very sweet rapport develops between her and Dylan (William Beck), and when Paula finds herself needing a friend and support, Dylan does his best to help. But is he aware of the full picture?

While not trying to do his best for Paula, Dylan also faces a very angry staff team. It seems he’s not quite as on top of the admin as he ought to be, and a new patient booking system threatens to overwhelm the ED.

And the role of clinical nurse manager is still vacant after Jacob stepped down. Who might be willing to apply for a job that Dylan describes as a ‘poisoned chalice’?
