Celebrity Gogglebox axes Denise Van Outens ex and replace him with boyband hunk

Denise Van Outen announced earlier this year that she had split from boyfriend Eddie Boxshall and it's reported he has now been replaced on Celebrity Gogglebox with Blue singer, Duncan James.

Blonde bombshell Denise split from her partner of seven years, Eddie Boxshall, after she claimed she caught him having intimate phone sex with another woman and found a number of flirty texts to other women on his iPad.

Fans immediately began wondering what would happen to Denise's spot on Celebrity Gogglebox, as she and Eddie has become favourites among viewers.

But it's reported she will instead be joined by her good friend Duncan James, of Blue fame.

A TV insider told The Sun: "Denise and Duncan have been pals since they both shot to fame in the late Nineties and he has been helping her through her painful break-up this year.

"As bezzies who share a similarly outrageous sense of humour, they have the perfect chemistry to deliver some laughs as they survey TV shows.

"Just a few months ago they were performing together at [London night spot] Proud Cabaret. She was wearing a mini dress while he donned a leather corset and fishnet stockings, though they’ll probably be wearing something a little more comfortable when they share the Gogglebox sofa."

Denise announced news of her split on Instagram back in January, where she addressed the issue after "months of speculation".

The TV personality posted a black and white photo of her dogs on her Instagram with the caption: "Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie.

"‘I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship," she continued, saying that she will "always treasure the good times" and the memories the pair had made.

Gogglebox producers were rumoured to have been thinking of replacing Eddie with Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh, who has been close friends with the actress for many years.

However producers chose to keep the female and male dynamic going and decided that Denise's best friend Duncan would fit the job well.

Duncan James became widely known when he became a member of popular boy band Blue back in 2001.

The band released three studio albums which were all successes.

He then went on to play Ryan Knight in long-running soap Hollyoaks.
