As Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) has made it clear that she is running things at Home Farm right now, she won’t get much opposition from her dangerous mother-in-law Kim – as Claire King has yet to return to the role since the soap started filming again.
Kim was pivotal to the ongoing battle of wills between Andrea and Jamie (Andrew Lincoln) but it will be a while before she returns with a vengeance as Claire has explained that she is still waiting for the green light to come back.
As Claire suffers from arthritis, she has been classed as vulnerable in the current coronavirus pandemic so she is one of the cast who has been unable to resume filming at this stage.
But she has every intention of being back when the guidelines allow – and Andrea had better watch out!
Claire told OK! Magazine: ‘I have arthritis, so my immune system is compromised, which makes you more at risk of catching the virus.

‘I’m not back at ‘Emmerdale’ yet, so it’s a case of waiting to bet written back in. When I get a flare up, it’s not nice and it does make you feel very tired. If I’m on location in winter, the cold feels like it gets to your bones.
‘Often people, don’t see it as an issue because you aren’t in a wheelchair or limping, but they look after me on the show and give me more indoor scenes during winter.
‘I have to have my buttons done up for me by the costume people now, and I can’t wear killer heels any more! You’ll notice Kim mostly wears riding boots now.’
Kim doesn’t need killer heels to be dangerous – so Andrea should enjoy her mother-in-law’s absence for now.
As we reckon Kim is currently stewing and concocting her revenge as we speak…
