Coleen and Wayne Rooney spoil kids with a pet dog AND hamster as they put tough year behind them

COLEEN and Wayne Rooney gave their kids a pet dog and a hamster for Christmas – as they put a tough year behind them.

Coleen, 33, told her fans on Instagram today: "We woke up to 2 new additions to the family this morning, Pip the Pom and Harry the Hamster."

Coleen and Wayne have endured a rocky twelve months, kicking off Rooney, 33, being pictured on a boozy bender with an American barmaid back in February.

Furious Coleen later took off her wedding ring and told Wayne to sort his life out for the sake of their sons.

But the ex-England ace was then pictured with a mystery woman at 5:30am in a hotel in October.

Soon after, Coleen and the kids  — Kai, nine, Klay, six, Kit, three, and 18-month-old Cass — left America where the family had relocated, and moved back to the UK.

Wayne followed, having decided to cut short his contract with DC United and save his marriage.

He signed an 18-month contract to become a player-coach with Championship side Derby County.

Now Coleen wants to try for a fifth child, their first girl, and friends say she has mapped out a long-term future at their £20million dream home in Cheshire.

Meanwhile, the product endorser admitted on social media it had been “a difficult year” – but there was more suffering to follow.

In October, Coleen accused her pal and fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy of leaking stories about her to the press.

The wag-ileaks row kicked off on social media when Coleen claimed stories she’d made up to catch a mole had been leaked by Becky’s Instagram account to The Sun.

The women are no longer speaking except via lawyers, and Jamie Vardy drafted in top firm Harbottle to prove Becky’s innocence if necessary.

Following the row, Becky jibed that “arguing with Coleen would be like arguing with a pigeon” and Jamie severed social media ties with Wayne in “a deliberate snub”.

A pal of Jamie said: “He’s totally behind Becky and furious with the Rooneys for the way they have gone about this.

"He and Wayne always got on well and he likes him. But he has made his feelings clear.

"Cutting him off on social media is a totally deliberate snub.”

Each of the stories provided to The Sun by different sources was put to Coleen’s people before publication, and on each occasion they declined to comment.
