DAVID Platt is set to have a meltdown as he comes face to face with Josh Tucker in court as the rapist goes on trial.
In the upcoming scenes David – played by Jack P. Shepherd – will have to face Josh, who was in prison after committing a further sexual assault.
Corrie fans know that this will be the first time David will lay eyes on his rapist after Josh framed David for attempted murder when he was stabbed during a riot in prison.
Instead of telling the police that David had protected him from the other inmates, he lied that David had stabbed him to put an end to his freedom.
However, the sex offender soon told the truth after being pressured by Paul Foreman, who is also coming to terms with suffering abuse at the hands of his former step dad Kel.
Since arriving on the cobbles, the mechanic and personal trainer has put David through hell.
David was left devastated after Josh drugged and raped him after a night out.
Viewers were spared any explicit scenes and instead, the story showed David waking up in Josh’s bed in horror and realising what had happened.
Corrie then focused on David struggling to cope with the rape and battling with shame and guilt.
After almost two months of dealing with his ordeal alone, David finally told his girlfriend Shona Ramsey what had happened in May 2018.
However, when the sex offender’s trial begins in an upcoming episode, David is overwhelmed with painful memories.
In scenes yet to air it’s all too much for the hairdresser and he has a meltdown in what’s set to be a dramatic court showdown.
Corrie fans will know that David had insufficient evidence to convict Josh the first time he found the courage to go to the police – but he now has the chance of sending him behind bars.
Will he get justice this time around?
