Coronation Street’s Aadi ‘to join Simon’s gang’ as Dev faces money troubles

Coronation Street newbie Adam Hussain, who took over the role of Aadi Alahan earlier this year, has suggested a new storyline for his character.

He said he'd like to see Aadi share more scenes with Simon Barlow, played by Alex Bain.

But with Simon hanging around with a gang of bad lads, Aadi would surely only cause more problems for his dad Dev (Jimmi Hakishin), who is going through money issues of his own.

Speaking to Daily Star Online about who he wants Aadi to have more scenes with, Adam said: "Simon, they sort of grew up together, best mates, then lost touch.

"But I'd be very interested to see the chemistry and bond between those two characters."

He explained: "Involving the people Simon's currently hanging around with, the thugs, those bad boys.

"I think involving school scenes, relationships, I think would be interesting to see."

Speaking of Simon actor Alex, Adam said: "He's a lovely chap, he's a great actor. I've seen him do some scenes, he's brilliant."

The soap star refused to reveal whether Aadi could be set for a romance, like his sister Asha, played by Tanisha Gorey.

However he did suggest there were plenty of options.

Adam said: "I think it'd be interesting to see.

"There's a bunch of teens a similar sort of age, so I think it'd be great to see the chemistry between all of us."
