Corrie fans delighted over forgotten characters return as Faye makes appearance

Coronation Street fans were left delighted on Wednesday as Faye Windass made a return as her father Tim Metcalfe went to visit her in prison.

Soap watchers will recall that Faye, played by Ellie Leach, was sentenced to three years in prison earlier this year for attacking Adam Barlow, who she had thought was the abusive Ray Crosby.

During Wednesday's episode, Tim went to visit Faye in prison where she was left down about her situation after he pointed out Kelly Neelan, who was wrongly sent down for Seb Franklin's murder, was released.

To which an upset Faye said there was "no positive" for her and added: "I'm not getting out anytime soon!"

However, in upcoming scenes, Faye is released from prison after having her claims against Ray proven true and she attempts to adapt to life back on the cobbles.

Viewers were left delighted over Faye's return on Wednesday with many admitting they had forgot about the character and even why she was in prison as it had been so long.

One person said: "I’d totally forgotten about Faye, can’t even remember why she’s in prison #corrie."

A different fan put: "I kinda forgot all about, Faye ! #Corrie."

Another follower commented: "HI FAYE . Long time, no see! #Corrie."

While a different viewer added: "Faye is back #Corrie," followed by heart and clapping emojis.

In upcoming scenes, soap watchers will see Faye released from prison but she has trouble settling back into life in Weatherfield.

However, there could be more trouble as Faye is said to be involved in a shocking car accident with Emma Brooker in Christmas episodes.
