Coronation Street fans have been delighted to witness Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin fall in love with each other in recent scenes, finally finding their match on the cobbles.
Sadly, Corrie spoilers have revealed the lovebirds are destined for heartache in upcoming scenes, as they fall victim to a harrowing gang attack.
The incident leaves both Nina (Mollie Gallagher) and Seb (Harry Visconti) hospitalised and fighting for their lives, as their stricken families gather around them.
Before the attack, the pair wonder whether their relationship is moving too fast after Roy Cropper (David Neilson) gently speaks to Nina about his concerns.
The cafe boss overheard Seb joking about proposing to Nina, leaving him concerned they were rushing the relationship.
When Nina shares Roy’s concerns with Seb, he wonders whether he ought to move out to help ease the pace of their blossoming romance.
The excitement around Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) and Kevin Webster’s (Michael Le Vell) wedding takes hold, as Seb presents his mum with a necklace as a token of his love.
Abi is thrilled and heads off for her hen party with her mates, unaware she is going to hear some devastating news in a matter of hours.
Utterly loved up, Seb and Nina head on a late-night walk by the canal, only to run into Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) and his gang of drunken mates.
Earlier in the evening, Corey and his friend Eli got drunk in the middle of nowhere, driving a stolen car and hanging out with Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson).
The gang start to harass Seb and Nina, who try to hurry away, only to get chased down by the drunken thugs.
They are severely beaten up by the gang and are later rushed to hospital where a team of medics try desperately to save their lives.
Nina has suffered severe blows to the head, and when she wakes up, she can’t remember anything from the attack – aside from realising she saw Corey and his mates.
