Former Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley happily revealed that ‘she’s back’ as she showed off her impressive weight loss.
The Eva Price star, 39, and her partner Tom Pitfield have two children together –Alfie and their newest child, Iris, who was born last April.
The couple picked the name Iris Ella after the actress played a character called Iris Moss in BBC drama Lilies in 2007.
Detailing her fitness journey so far, Catherine shared a picture of her physique.
‘This time last year I was 2.5 stones heavier. I’d given birth a few weeks ago and didn’t recognise myself anymore,’ she penned.
‘I suffered with hyperemesis [prolonged sickness] and hormonal insomnia throughout my pregnancy which meant I averaged around 2 hours sleep a night for 6 months. We tried everything to help me sleep/feel better but nothing worked. I felt dreadful.’

Catherine continued: “Whilst I was pregnant with Alfie I felt great and was weight training until I was 8 months pregnant. I felt strong and recovery was fast.
“With Iris I felt so weak and vulnerable. Combined with two failed epidurals and needing plenty of rehabilitation for my spine and pelvis – recovery has been much longer this time.
The actress also added that she’s feeling herself again and back in the gym.
‘It’s been really hard at times but for me – But – having children means I want to give them the best version of me, and I want to live for as long as I can,’ she concluded.
‘I train and eat well for me AND them. I train so I’m mentally and physically strong for whatever role I play next. I train so I can feel good about myself.
‘I train to relieve stress. I train so I sleep better. It’s been worth the slog- and I’m showing up each day to maintain things- mentally and physically.’
Following Iris’ birth, Catherine opened up to followers about her pregnancy journey, admitting it feels as though she’s been pregnant for a very long time.
‘Apparently an African bush elephant is pregnant for 22 months!’, she wrote in the Instagram caption.
‘I fear that my body may have me confused with an elephant! It feels like I’ve been pregnant since 1942… Cherishing pjs, a bump and copious amounts of pineapple while I can!’
