Corrie's Cassie rushed to hospital in violent attack and it gets worse

Cassie Plummer’s (Claire Sweeney) arrival continues to create problems in Coronation Street as she ends up in hospital again, which leads to the return of an old character.

Cassie is Tyrone’s (Alan Halsall) biological mother and returns this week after spending time in rehab.

Both Cassie and Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) decide to take up residence in a flat in the precinct, with Evelyn determined to keep distance between her daughter and Tyrone.

That fails miserably after some sly work from Cassie, who makes her way to the Bistro and ends up revealing the truth to Tyrone.

In a new week, it appears that Tyrone is willing to give Cassie a chance as he listens to her chat about how she’s going to the Citizens Advice Bureau to start looking for somewhere to stay.

Cassie then destroys her hopes of ever living a life completely free from drugs, as she actually meets up with her drug dealer Dean – who we met a few years ago when Abi (Sally Carman) was struggling in the aftermath of her and Imran’s (Charlie de Melo) affair being revealed.

Dean quickly turns nasty when he reminds Cassie that she owes him money, leading to her falling to the ground in pain.

Cassie is spotted by Michael (Ryan Russell), who insists on taking her to hospital.

While at A&E, Dean arrives and ends up rowing with Michael.

As Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) approaches, Dean punches Michael in the face.

Ronnie says that the police need to be called but Cassie asks them not to.

But will they listen to her?

And will Tyrone find out what’s happened?
