Corrie’s Maureen Lipman filming ahead of return following partner's death

Coronation Street’s Maureen Lipman has been pictured filming ahead of her return to the ITV soap as Evelyn Plummer.

Maureen will be returning to our screens in the coming weeks following her partner Guido Castro’s death.

Back in January, Maureen confirmed the sad news and told the Daily Mail that he tested positive for Coronavirus days after getting the vaccine and, while Covid wasn’t the cause of his death, he was weakened from it.

‘I said to Guido “it’s time to go. You’ve got to let go”’ Maureen said. ‘I think for once in his life he actually did what I told him.’

Maureen also took time away from the soap to wait for her Coronavirus vaccine.

She spoke on the Outspoken Beauty podcast and said: ‘I continued in Coronation Street after the first initial lockdown. I went back and I am still officially working on it except that I am taking a bit of a sabbatical until I get my vaccination at the moment.’

Evelyn Plummer has been on a scenic railway journey with her friend in the soap and will return in the coming episodes.

However, with Roy (David Neilson) in the middle of the aftermath of Nina (Mollie Gallagher) and Seb’s (Harry Visinoni) attack, a sarcastic remark made by Evelyn about Kirk’s (Andrew Whyment) IQ leaves Roy devastated and throws her out of the café.

Will Evelyn realise her mistake and support Roy through the aftermath of this horrific attack?
