Dancing On Ices Ben Foden is first star to leave ITV show after dreaded skate-off

Dancing On Ice contestant Ben Foden became the first star to be voted off the ITV skating show on Sunday night after the dreaded skate-off.

Ben, 36, performed with pro Robin Johnstone as he went against Ria Hebden and Lukasz Rozycki, who received the lowest votes on last week's opening episode.

After both stars took to the ice with their pro partners to perform in the dreaded skate-off, the four judges – Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo – delivered their verdict with Ria and Lukasz winning an unanimous vote.

Speaking after his fate was revealed, Ben admitted that the standard is high for the 2022 series and praised Robin for being an "incredible" professional partner.

Prior to the skate-off, Ben joked he was trying to "win votes" after he sent fans wild by ripping his shirt open during his first performance of the series.

Ben performed with pro Robin where he ripped his sequinned shirt's buttons during the routine to show off his toned torso.

As he spoke to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield after the routine, the two presenters teased the rugby star about his outfit as he joked he was trying to get votes.

Holly, 40, said: "You seem to be getting used to the sequins… you may have popped a button there, I'm not sure what happened there, Ben!"

With Ben hilariously joking: "A few, yeah, they've already told me what I've got to do to try and win some votes!"

To which Holly quipped: "You're not a silly man," with Phillip adding: "Shameless!"
