Dancing On Ice’s John Barrowman spills all on Caprice ‘parting ways’ with Hamish

Dancing On Ice viewers were shocked when presenter Holly Willoughby announced Caprice Bourret and Hamish Gaman would no longer be skating together on the ITV show. The pair had been partnered together at the beginning of the competition but after two dances together they opted to “part ways” and now judge John Barrowman has compared the split to a “divorce in the family”.

Despite Caprice and Hamish’s decision to split, the pair both remain in the competition.

Caprice has subsequently been partnered with Oscar and Hamish participates in the group numbers.

While attending the National Television Awards, John spoke out how the rest of the Dancing On Ice team was coping with the split.

We’ve just had a divorce in the family and that’s it and like any divorce that you have in the family as a family member you try not to take sides,” he told the Mirror Online.

“We love both of them and Caprice is now skating with Oscar.”

“Everybody’s doing fine. They don’t have to get along with each other, they just have to get along with it,” he added.

The ITV judge explained he’s found a way of keeping Hamish busy by taking to the ice with the professional skater.

“Hamish and I skated today because I went back on the ice just for fun,” John explained.

When asked how Hamish feels about the controversy, he said: “Hamish is fine. I can’t wait until he lifts me!”

Last weekend, Caprice returned to the ice to perform with her new partner Oscar after missing one week of the show.

After the shock announcement there were reports that “bullying” was behind the pair’s decision to “part ways”.

An ITV spokesperson said: “We have seen no evidence of the alleged bullying on Dancing On Ice and strongly refute any suggestion to the contrary.
