DAVID Walliams has confirmed that Simon Cowell will be missing from the Britain's Got Talent Christmas special.
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, which airs tomorrow night, 49-year-old David also spoke about the star's dramatic weight loss, joking it was "to try and make me look fatter”.
Music mogul Simon, 61, revealed in May that he’d lost around 60lbs – just over 4st – by following advice from a specialist, embracing a vegan diet, cutting out junk food and overhauling his busy lifestyle.
Simon’s health kick was said to be sparked by a 2017 accident where he fell down the stairs at his LA home.
Though he made a full recovery, the scary incident was reportedly connected to his extremely low blood pressure.
Former Little Britain star David elaborated on Simon's absence while chatting to Jonathan, saying: “We haven’t seen [Simon] in a while. He lost a lot of weight, I think mainly just to try and make me look fatter in pictures.
“We’ve done a Christmas special [of BGT] without Simon. It’s going to be on Christmas Day on ITV.”
David also admitted on the talk show that he and his fellow Britain’s Got Talent judges can get quite competitive with each other.
He explained: “We’re kind of competing, we’re actually very competitive.
“Thank god Simon Cowell is not there. What would his talent be? What does he do? He sits there and says no to people, anyone can do that.
“The girls sing, Ashley performs and I do a little bit of comedy.”
The Jonathan Ross Show is on Saturday 12th December at 9.30pm on ITV.
