Demi Jones reveals she got nipples pierced for Real Full Monty

Former Love Island star Demi Jones has revealed details of a new piercing she got ahead of her appearance on Strictly The Real Full Monty.

Demi, 23, is one of ten stars who are stripping off as part of the two-part celebrity special, which sees an all-star line-up taking part in the ITV show where famous faces dare to bare for charity.

The show follows the ten celebs as they take on a routine inspired by the famous strip scene in the 1997 Full Monty film and raise awareness of life-saving cancer checks in the process.

The first episode of the two-part special, which aired on 13 December, saw the celebrities in their preparations to take on the performance.

Reality star Demi, who’s recently been receiving treatment for thyroid cancer, shared on the show how she’d had both her nipples pierced ahead of appearing on the ITV show.

"The Full Monty is the real deal,” Demi explained. "Because I knew I was going to get naked, I did a little cheeky thing and got both my nipples pierced.

"I hope you can see it through here. I thought I'd add a little jazzle.”

Alongside Demi, this year’s cast of celebs includes EastEnders actress Laila Morse, professional dancers and husband and wife James and Ola Jordan, Blue singer Duncan James and model Christine McGuiness.

Also getting their kit off are Olympian Colin Jackson, musical theatre and Loose Women star Brenda Edwards, TV presenter Martin Roberts and Love Island star Teddy Soares.

Each of the stars has their own story to tell of how cancer has affected their lives, with Demi being diagnosed with thyroid cancer earlier this year.

The 23-year-old required immediate surgery to remove the tumour, which has left her with a scar on her neck.

She had found the lump in her neck two years previously, but a combination of delayed appointments due to the Covid crisis and misdiagnosis meant it wasn’t treated.

However, after two surgeries and radioiodine therapy treatment, Demi has since shared the happy news that she is cancer free.

Posting to her 1.2 million Instagram followers, she wrote: “"I’M CANCER FREE!!!! I did it!

"I got my full body scan results back and there’s not a single cancer cell left in my body. It’s been such a difficult year mentally and physically for me with my surgeries and treatment but I’m beyond grateful for everyone’s kindness and support over this past year.

"I will continue to be an advocate for cancer awareness and all my love and strength goes out to those who continue to fight this awful disease, here’s to a healthy and happy 2022."
