EastEnders Danielle Harold pays sweet tribute to on-screen daughter ahead of exit

EastEnders star Danielle Harold has shared a sweet tribute to her on-screen daughter, Isabella Brown, on Wednesday amid their emotional storyline on the BBC One soap.

Only recently, Danielle's character Lola Pearce was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme after suffering with a seizure and has recently started undergoing radiotherapy appointments.

Lola had hoped the cancerous tumour could be removed but the surgery was unsuccessful and she was told in devastating scenes last year that she has terminal cancer.

It comes as fans have been left in tears as this year's special Christmas episode appeared to confirm Lola's death in a flashforward clue on Monday.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Lola star Danielle shared a picture of herself with her on-screen daughter, Lexi Pearce star Isabella, and Max Bowden, who plays Ben Mitchell – Lexi's dad.

In the snap, taken from Lola's wedding to Jay Brown, the trio all wear wedding outfits with Danielle and Max sweetly kissing Isabella on the cheek.

Danielle penned: "I couldn’t of asked for a better mini me this little one makes me so proud everyday."

EastEnders fans and Danielle's co-stars were quick to react to the snap with Patsy Kensit, who played Lola's estranged mum Emma Harding, writing: "love you both" with a series of heart emojis.

One viewer wrote: "She's incredible x this storyline is heartbreaking but you have been amazing you all have been x."

A different EastEnders fan sweetly put: "A star in the making."

Another follower penned: "She’s amazing, she’s really shining with such a heart felt storyline! Xx."

While a different fan added: "She’s such an amazing actress! You are amazing too! Been in tears with Lola’s story, won’t be the same on the square without you, wish you luck in your next chapter beaut xxxxx."

It comes as Monday night aired a BBC One soap first with fans shown a 2023 flashforward scene of six of Walford’s much loved matriarchs, Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon ( Letitia Dean ), Stacey ( Lacey Turner ) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) faced with a dead body.

In the moments that unfolded at the Queen Vic, the group of women all stood round in shock in a festive-looking pub and looked down at a mystery man lying on the floor – with it unclear whose body it is and what’s happened.

Not much was said between the six of them, but Stacey was covered in blood, Denise was holding a smashed bottle of Champagne and Sharon wore a bloodied wedding dress as she leant over the body, confirming the person was dead.

However soap watchers were left distracted during the scenes as they spotted another devastating clue in the scenes as a picture of Lola was seen on the bar next to Linda, appearing to confirm that Lola will die before Christmas.

EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
