Writing on social media, Danielle wrote: "I couldn’t of asked for a better mini me this little one makes me so proud everyday."

Alongside the touching tribute she shared a picture of her and soap co-star Max Bowden – who plays Lexi's dad Ben Mitchell – kissing her on each cheek.

Viewers have agreed with the soap actress' praise, as one commented: "She’s absolutely incredible isn’t she? I’m not looking forward to Lola’s passing and you leaving as it is as that’s heart-breaking but seeing Lexi in bits is gonna be even worse."

Another agreed, as the added: "A star in the making."

A third wrote: "Aw love this picture She’s a little superstar & is truly gonna shine in this storyline."

Danielle recently opened up about her Albert Square character's brain tumour storyline, describing how she had been talking to people living with brain tumours as well as families who have lost loved ones.

The soap's bosses are working with Brain Tumour Research and Macmillan Cancer Support to make sure they get the storyline correct.

She said: "I was so nervous when they first told me because it’s such a big story and the plans they have are so big.

"And because of the issues surrounding it, and all those people who are going through it at the moment, it really got my heart going."

She added: "I just want to do it as best I can for people going through it and their families."

Danielle added that she hopes that the storyline will help awareness of the condition and that it may spur more research and funding into finding treatments.

Fans are convinced Lola will die before the end of the year after seeing a framed photo of the Walford resident in a recent flashforward scene.
