EastEnders fans heartbroken as Kush makes tragic admission ahead of soap exit

EastEnders fans were moved as they watched a tearful Kush Kazemi admit he was a gambling addict during Monday's episode.

He broke down during tonight's dramatic episode after losing his home, family and girlfriend Kat Slater as a result of his gambling.

Viewers recently saw Kush set up by Suki Panesar and Ruby Allen with a bet to take his money and lose the Slaters their home.

Kush tearfully admitted he had turned to gambling to cope with lockdown, and his actions have had devastating consequences on the family.

Stacey told him: "You have lost us everything.

"She clearly doesn't matter to you – none of us do – not even your own son.

"You couldn't stop at the money, could you? Could you? Are you listening to me?"

The overwhelmed character shouted: "I'm an addict," in an emotional admission to Stacey.

He added: "There you go. I've said it, it's out there."

Stacey had no sympathy as she said: "If only you could have admitted that this morning.

"All the men in her life have let her down – Alfie lied to her constantly, now you. You were supposed to be different, Kush. How's she supposed to forgive you?

"You're too late. Not only have you lost this place, you've lost everything."

Kush burst into tears and the episode came to a dramatic end.

Viewers were left heartbroken at Kush's upsetting situation.

One said: "Kush breaking my heart."

While another wrote: "Poor Kush. Bit by bit this storyline and Davood's performance especially is tearing my heart into pieces; I'm dreading where this is going, but if my gut is right I can barely watch."

It was revealed earlier this year that Kush actor Davood will be leaving the BBC soap in 2021, but the storyline surrounding his exit is yet to be confirmed.

EastEnders continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on BBC One.
