Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) makes a huge decision in upcoming Emmerdale scenes, as she settles on leaving the village in her rear-view mirror and starting afresh elsewhere.
The soap mainstay attends a seminar on postnatal depression next week, and while there, she’s offered a job in Nottingham.
Subsequent scenes will see her confide in Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), who encourages her to take it.
Tracy, spurred on by Charity’s confidence in her, ultimately decides to grab the opportunity with both hands, and thus she is forced to break the news to Nate.
The above video clip – taken from Wednesday’s (January 12) edition of the ITV soap – sees her stop by Billy Fletcher’s (Jay Kontzle) home, where Nate is currently staying.
She is surprised to find that Nate has cooked her a meal, and he wastes little time in telling her how much he wants them to rekindle their romance.
Tracy, however, breaks the news to him, telling him that both she and Frankie are leaving for Nottingham.
How will Nate react?
‘Nate’s instinctive reaction is fear,’ actress Amy Walsh said. ‘He reacts on fear, and talks her out of it, undermining her confidence.
‘I think it comes from a place of – not maliciousness – but it’s quite manipulative and conniving, as it’s all about breaking her down. But it comes from a place of fear, so he plays that card.’
Will Nate be able to make Tracy reconsider? Or is her mind already made up?
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Wendesday January 12 at 7pm on ITV.
