And a few years ago, Sam became a single dad to Samson (Sam Hall) when he lost his first wife Alice Dingle (Ursula Holden-Gill) to cancer.

When Lydia arrived in the village, sparks soon flew between the pair and they are now looking forward to becoming husband and wife.

However, the couple very nearly called things off not so long ago when Lydia was forced to confront the death of her baby boy which had occurred years earlier.

Although Sam struggled to help his wife at first, the pair soon realised how much they loved each other.

But Mandy’s meddling could spell trouble for the husband-to-be as she’ll be responsible for Lydia going missing.

In upcoming scenes, Mandy takes it upon herself to organise both the hen and stag do.

Lydia is not impressed with the idea but goes along with it to please her soon to be cousin-in-law.

Mandy decides to whisk Lydia away for a night on the town but things take a turn for the worse when they’re left stranded.
