Emmerdale star Danny Miller promises gritty lockdown episode for Aaron and Cain

Emmerdale’s special lockdown episodes are less than a week away, and among the six instalments, one will centre on Aaron and Cain Dingle (Danny Miller and Jeff Hordley) — who are spending lockdown together — and actor Danny has promised that said episode is a gritty one.

Speaking about how quick production was on the single instalment, Danny said: ‘We had a day’s rehearsal. This was in the studio with the director and producer. So we could read through and bring up any queries or issues.’

‘Then Jeff and I spent an hour FaceTiming each other to run through the episode a little bit more so we were fully prepared. And then straight onto shoot day. This shows how quickly Emmerdale and ITV can turn round a gritty piece of continuing drama.’

‘So this episode was quite a different process. Because not only did we have all the usual bits to remember, lines, positions, cues etc but also making sure health and safety was included and prioritised. Quite rightly.’

The episode sees Aaron spending lockdown with Cain, the latter of who is adamant that he won’t be opening up about his feelings.

A letter arrives with a prison stamp on it, and Cain wrestles with what to do for the best. Worrying that Aaron could slip back into his despair, he decides to hide the envelope in a magazine.

The days in lockdown pass by, one after another, and — as he gets drunk with Aaron — Cain accidentally lets slip about the letter, and Aaron is fuming as a result, which results in conflict ensuing.
