Emmerdale star Leah Bracknell left most of her fortune to husband and daughters

Emmerdale star Leah Bracknell left most of her £280,000 fortune to her husband and two daughters.

The actress – who portrayed the iconic Zoe Tate in the long-running serial drama — tragically died in September of last year following a battle with lung cancer.

According to The Sun, Probate records show Leah left most of her £279,430 to her husband Jez Hughes and her two daughters.

Leah revealed she had been diagnosed with stage four terminal lung cancer back in 2016. She passed away in September 2019, and the tragic news was announced the following month.

Her manager said: ‘It is with the deepest sadness that Leah Bracknell’s family confirm that Leah passed away in September, three years after her diagnosis with stage four lung cancer.’

Leah featured in Emmerdale for 16 years, playing Zoe Tate — who is largely remembered for being the first lesbian character in British soap.

She made her first appearance as the iconic character back in 1989, and featured regularly until 2005.

During that time, she featured in some huge storylines — such as Zoe’s battle with schizophrenia, and her exit from the serial drama is regarded as one of the most iconic the soap genre has ever seen.

Emmerdale continues Monday 20 April at 7pm on ITV.
