Emmerdale businessman Jai Sharma (played by Chris Bisson) has been given another chance by Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) on the ITV soap. They have been taking things gradually but Lauren’s announcement in upcoming scenes might cause Jai’s son Archie Breckle (Kai Assi) to run away from the Yorkshire Dales.

Jai and Laurel’s relationship initially ended when she discovered he had been lying to her about taking out a huge loan in her name when was in financial difficulty.

They managed to move forward after he apologised and agreed to give their relationship another try.

However, things took a turn for the worse when Laurel believed drugs found at Take A Vow belonged to former drug addict Jai.

The drugs actually belonged to Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) but Jai and Laurel broke up as he felt she could not trust him.

Following their split, Laurel embarked on a brief romance with newcomer Kit (Thoren Ferguson) who is Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) physiotherapist.

The fling made Jai extremely jealous and he soon realised he wanted to be with Laurel.

He later took great pleasure punching him at Marlon and Rhona Goskirk’s (Zoe Henry) wedding when it was revealed Kit was cheating on Laurel with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham).

They once again managed to put the past behind them and got back together.

ITV soap spoilers have revealed Laurel is ready to take their relationship to the next level and will ask Jai to move back in with her.

While Jai’s delighted by Laurel’s proposal, his son Archie is left seriously unimpressed.

Could Archie run away from the village in an act of defiance against his father and Laurel wanting to live under the same roof?

Is there a reason he has such a problem with Laurel which Jai is completely unaware of?

Jai is bound to be left heartbroken if Archie goes missing and he might blame Laurel for it.

Will the couple call it quits if Archie refuses to accept their relationship?

Jai and Laurel’s decision to get back together has divided viewers in recent weeks.

Riley Collins tweeted: “Jai and Laurel really aren’t meant to be – that’s the twentieth time they’ve broken up and got back together.”

Ryan Glendenning added: “Jai and Laurel constantly bump into problems. Laurel is better away from Jai #Emmerdale.”

@ASuperGave penned: “Yes, Laurel. Desperate enough to get back with Jai so he can rob you of another £50k #Emmerdale.”

However, a more supportive Brandon said: “#Jai & #Laurel getting on makes Me happy. #Emmerdale.” (sic)

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV.
