Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) is ready to give the performance of a lifetime in Emmerdale next week, as her long-awaited trial kicks off.
The ITV soap has dropped a brand new trailer for the unmissable courtroom showdown, as the crazed killer pulls out all the stops to secure her freedom.
Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) are both called to testify, but will their evidence be enough to ensure justice is served?
Not if Meena has anything to do with it, as she has her barrister suggest that Liam was conducting an affair with her!
Manpreet, meanwhile, is determined to destroy her sister in court, and she refuses to let Meena’s performance rattle her as she takes the stand.
The defence delves deep into Manpreet’s past and attempts to portray her as a seasoned liar. Manpreet’s infuriated to see Meena relish in her misery.
Meena’s grin at the end of the trailer suggests that things in court go her way, but the question is: just what will the jury have to say?
Will she be found guilty or not guilty?
That is the question, and one which you’re just going to have to find out by tuning in!
How Meena’s story concludes remains to be seen, but actress Paige Sandhu recently weighed in on whether she reckons prison would be a fitting conclusion for the killer’s arc.
‘I do actually’, she told Metro.co.uk.
‘I always thought that Meena’s storyline was going to have to come to an end at some point, because you just can’t let a villain as bad as Meena just carry on.’
Will justice be served? Only time will tell!
Emmerdale airs these scenes w/c Monday April 11 on ITV.
