Fans took to Twitter to weigh in on his new gig, joking that he’s the best candidate for the job based on his track record.
“Who better than #PeterGunz to be the new host of #Cheaters??! After all, he is the male poster model of cheating,” one commentator wrote.
“This is the funniest thing I’ve heard all day,” another wrote along with the hashtag #Cheaters #CreepSquad, a nod to the crew Gunz belonged to on Love & Hip Hop with other cheating men on the show.
Cheaters is a weekly hidden camera reality television series that follows people suspected of cheating on their partners. Investigations work to uncover their double life and work closely with the other party in the relationship to help confront their cheating partner.
Cheaters premiered in 2000 and has aired 15 seasons so far.
Peter Gunz has tons of experiencing with cheating
Gunz joined the cast of Love & Hip Hop’s New York franchise in season 4. He was introduced as a former rapper and current producer looking to get in artist management. The first few episodes followed his relationship with Tara Wallace, his longterm girlfriend of 13 years and mother of two of his seven children.
What Wallace was unaware of is that Gunz was dating an artist he was working with, Amina Buddafly. Gunz even introduced Wallace to Buddafly during a musical showcase and Wallace was supportive of Gunz working with her.
Gunz was leading on both women. He told Buddafly that he and Wallace were no longer a couple and lived together for the sake of their children. He married Buddafly while still living with Wallace and Wallace did not discover they were married until a heated sitdown with Buddafly. Prior to the revelation, Gunz did reveal to Wallace that he was dating Buddafly. The two women fought tirelessly during their time on the show, despite Gunz being the culprit.
The love triangle continued for several years, with Gunz going back and forth between each woman. Both Wallace and Buddafly had more children with Gunz before both breaking things off for good with him.
Buddafly lives in Los Angeles now and is focused on raising her two daughters that she shares with Gunz while releasing music and promoting fitness. Wallace remains in New York where she and Gunz co-parent their three sons.
