FRIENDS' David Schwimmer has claimed Ross Geller 'should've dated women of all races' and branded the lack of representation 'wrong'.
The 53-year-old played Ross in the hit sitcom from 1994 to 2004 and saw his character date many different women around his on-off romance with Rachel Green.
Friends has reached a new generation of viewers now thanks to streaming services like Netflix, however it has come under fire from millennials for its lack of diversity.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, David admitted that, with hindsight, the lack of inclusivity on the show didn't feel right.
He said: "It felt wrong that there was not enough representation on the show."
And despite the fact Ross dated Julie (Lauren Tom) and Charlie (Aisha Taylor), David said it didn't feel like enough.
He added: "[it] really felt like Ross should date other people, women of all races."
Meanwhile David and his co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc are gearing up to film their highly anticipated reunion show for HBO Max.
It had originally been slated to film in March, but the coronavirus pandemic caused it to be delayed.
David offered fans an update during his chat with the outlet, revealing: "I can tell you that we are hoping to shoot in August, in mid-August, but honestly, we will do it when it’s safe.
"There has always been a hope that a component of that reunion show will have a live audience, which makes the whole thing really tricky."
At the weekend, The Mirror told how filming will be hugely different to the cast being cosied up on the sofas at Central Perk Cafe.
A source told the publication: "There are going to be very strict guidelines and that includes no live audiences. All of the cast will be tested for Covid-19, and asked to quarantine in isolation after they’ve had the tests."
