A furious Windsor resident's rant about Meghan Markle live on air today left This Morning viewers gobsmacked.
Consumer editor Alice Beer was out on the streets of Windsor as she got the opinion of locals about Meghan and Harry's decision to split from the royal family.
Yesterday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed in a statement that they would be taking a "step back" from royal duties.
One of those included a man called Derek who had some very strong opinions of what has happened.
Confirming he was not happy with Prince Harry he said: "He's expecting everyone to carry on as usual, even though they're not going to be there. As I said at the time, this was going to happen before they even got married."
Revealing he never thought the marriage would last, he said: "I gave it two and a half years."
He added: "She's an American, the second American in the Court of St James – we know what happened to the first in 1936. It brought the king down, which meant that the queen's father took his place George VI."
Alice asked whether he thought we should just "let them be happy".
Derek retorted: "Again, it's a yank at the Court of St James."
A stunned Alice tried to suggest that they didn't want to cause offense to them or generalise, but Derek tried to continue ranting about a "yank in the court".
However Alice swiftly intervened by pointing at a horse and cart which she thought they might be passing by in, before moving onto other tourists and locals.
And viewers couldn't believe what they had watched.
One tweeted: "Who is this moody old man saying a ‘yank’ is going to bring down the monarchy on #ThisMorning."
While another commented: "Derek isn't happy about Harry and Meghan. Who tf are you though Derek. Calling Meghan a 'yank' more racism on #ThisMorning."
A third remarked: "Bloody Americans coming over here stealing our royals #ThisMorning."
"Oh Derek #ThisMorning," another sighed.
