Game Of Thrones Star Kit Harington Set To Join Marvel Cinematic Universe

Game of Thrones star Kit Harington is reportedly nearing a move to the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the show’s culmination earlier this year.

Easily one of the most popular men on television during GoT‘s lengthy reign, Harington, who played Jon Snow, probably made a few more fans after killing his lover Daenerys Targaryen following her decimation of King’s Landing towards the end of the series. And folks were understandably irate after watching him stand trial for ridding the world of a murderous tyrant only to be banished to the Night’s Watch again.

“It felt to me like he was finally free,” Harington said in a recent interview, explaining where he was going in the final episode. “He had done a horrible thing, as much as he had felt that pain, the actual ending for him was finally being released.” Despite being a great and fearless leader, it was always evident that Jon never really wanted to be king. That’s one of the reasons why he was so willing to pass up the crown for Dany. That and, you know, the being in love with her and all that.”

Well, it appears that he could end up in the MCU, having set off on what appeared to be a long trek in GoT’s final moments. That is according to Deadline, a very reputable source whose writer, Mike Flemming Jr, claims the star will make his next appearance under the employ of Marvel.

“Last we saw Kit Harington, the Game of Thrones star’s Jon Snow character ended that HBO series with a walk north of The Wall into the forest with the Free Folk Wildlings, his punishment for slaying his mad queen lover, Daenerys Targaryen. So where did he go?

“Deadline hears it is to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he will make his next film. Sources said that Harington will join one of Marvel and Kevin Feige’s superhero franchises.

All of Marvel and Disney is busy with the D23 Expo this weekend in Anaheim. I was unable to figure out which film, and nobody was around to elaborate, which they probably wouldn’t anyway.”

This news comes while D23 is happening in Anaheim, California. The convention, which spans the entirety of this weekend, will very likely unravel a few Marvel updates.

It is expected that there will be announcements over upcoming streaming service Disney+, Star Wars, and various other affairs over the next two days. Disney is keeping its lineup under wraps for more effect, but we should expect to hear more about the MCU and Harrington before the weekend fizzles into Monday.
