Good Morning Britain viewers “refused to watch” as Nigel Farage made an appearance as a guest on Thursday.
Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard said they were “delighted” to welcome the divisive former politician who spearheaded Brexit and now presents for GB News.
It came as speculation grows about Farage making a return to politics after he was cheered at a Conservative Party conference event where he was seen dancing with Priti Patel.
However, the same can’t be said for his appearance on Good Morning Britain as ITV viewers fumed about the channel giving the 59-year-old airtime.
Twitter user @gosforth_mummy penned: “Urgh not watching this idiot #gmb.”

“Really #gmb??” asked Cherrieschapel.
@g_gosden added: “Farage on #gmb. The normalisation of the fascist is particularly worrying.”
@Jamesogrady551 remarked: “Stop giving Nigel Farage airtime #gmb.”

Not everyone shared the same view though, with @fayesmith502 posting: “@Nigel_Farage on #GMB I agree with everything he has said this morning!! Get this man as PM – he would not put up with any s*** we have now and would sort this s*** hole of a country out!!!” (sic)
“It was very nice of Rishi [Sunak] to say we’d have him back, which previous Conservative leaders would never have said,” Farage remarked.
“Desperation?” Garraway probed, to which Farage responded: “Oh, they’re in trouble.”
He continued: “They’re in very, very real trouble and they’re in particularly in trouble in the Red Wall.
“Those Red Wallvoters that went Conservative in 2019 had nearly all come through UKIP.
“They were old Labour who had gone to UKIP, gone to the Conservatives, so you can see why they’re being nice to me.”
“But they’re the ones that aren’t happy about HS2 being cancelled,” Garraway pointed out.
“I’m not sure about that,” the GB News presenter replied, “Metropolitan Manchester wants HS2 buit actually fi you did link up all those northern cities the north would be far better off without HS2.”
Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays from 6am on ITV.
