Good Morning Britain accidentally airs sweary subtitle blunder

Good Morning Britain accidentally aired a sweary blunder on today’s episode during the ITV News Calendar’s Report.

Presenters Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard had no idea that viewers up in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire were shown a pretty bad expletive when the show’s logo cut out the first letter of the town ‘Scunthorpe’ when showing a clip of a steel factory.

The poor positioning meant that town accidentally appeared as ‘C***thorpe’.

Whoops.

Luckily though, it seems that the mishap went pretty much unnoticed by viewers with only one pointing out the glaring error on Twitter.

‘Oh dear. The @GMB logo and time were in an unfortunate position this morning,’ they wrote.

‘Brilliant, that made me smile,’ replied another.

Earlier this month, Good Morning Britain’s Laura Tobin had to think on her feet after a live technical blunder.

Her weather map refused to play ball, forcing her to ‘improvise’ for viewers watching at home.

While delivering the unwelcome but unsurprising news that the country should brace itself for more rain, she explained: ‘Weather wise we are talking about Hurricane Lorenzo, but today the forecast is for yet more rain.’

More recently, Andi Peters tripped up and fell flat on his face as he introduced a competition live from Outer Mongolia.

After he picked himself up from the floor, Andi told viewers at home and hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid that he could hear his boss cracking up in hysterics.

‘My producer over there is literally laughing so much,’ he admitted.

‘This trip, trip literally, is turning into my worst nightmare coming to Outer Mongolia with no notice, but anyway, you could be having lots of notice getting that call from us saying you’ve won £500,000,’ Andi added later.

Oh the joys of live television.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
