Heartbroken girlfriend of Sophie Xeon told her to 'keep fighting' as she found her dying after fall from rooftop

THE heartbroken girlfriend of Sophie Xeon told her to "keep fighting" when she found her dying after falling from a rooftop.

Grammy-nominated musician Sophie Xeon fell to her death while taking pictures of a full moon in a "terrible accident" on Saturday.

The Scottish artist, 34, who was also known as SOPHIE, had worked with stars Madonna and Charlie XCX.

Now Sophie's girlfriend Evita Manji has told MailOnline she was able to speak to the trans icon after she fell from the apartment block in Athens, Greece.

She said: "I managed to tell her I love her and to tell her to keep fighting.

"She was my life. We were supposed to get married."

In a post on social media she added: "I guess this is what it's like to wake up from a dream, because my life with you felt like the best dream Sophie.

"Everyday was an endless stream of love and acceptance, a journey to know you deeper and deeper.

"Today I lost my everything… I can feel your energy everywhere around and inside me, you're guiding me through this and calm me down like you would always do.

"Every particle of me will always have a piece of you.

"Sophie was a real angel, she was the sweetest, the kindest to every soul and everything around her.

"A very very special creature… She was so curious about what is out there in the cosmos, I can feel her being happy and excited to explore the unknown.

"She's an immaterial girl now, she can be anything she wants… and she is in everything around us."

Sophie's record label announced her death on Twitter yesterday.

The statement from Transgressive read: "Tragically our beautiful Sophie passed away this morning after a terrible accident.

"True to her spirituality she had climbed up to watch the full moon and accidentally slipped and fell."

A statement from the trans icon's team hailed her as a "pioneer of a new sound".

It read: "It is with profound sadness that I have to inform you that musician and producer SOPHIE passed away this morning around 4am in Athens, where the artist had been living, following a sudden accident."

The artist was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album for her 2018 debut album Oil Of Every Pearl's Un-Insides.

Pals have paid tribute to the icon.

Producer Nile Rogers tweeted: "#RestInPower SOPHIE! You were one of the most innovative, dynamic, and warm persons I had the pleasure of working with at 2019 ⁦@southbankcentre"

Artist QueensChristine added: "Sophie was a stellar producer, a visionary, a reference. She rebelled against the narrow, normative society by being an absolute triumph, both as an artist and as a woman.

"I can’t believe she is gone. We need to honor and respect her memory and legacy. Cherish the pioneers."
