Holly Willoughby insists it would be ‘impossible’ to stay on This Morning if she didn’t get on with Phillip Schofield – The Sun

HOLLY Willoughby has insisted it would be "impossible" to stay on This Morning if she didn't get on with Phillip Schofield.

The Sun revealed there's tensions behind the scenes after the close pals' professional relationship became strained over recent months.

Putting on a brave face at the Dancing on Ice 2020 launch last night, Holly told the BBC: "You couldn't do the amount of hours of TV that we do with each other without getting on."

Her co-star Phil then denied there was a feud, adding anyone who thought that "was mistaken".

He said: "We have such a laugh. We're best mates, she's like the sister I never had. I just adore working with her, she's just perfect."

But eight star ITV presenters told The Sun about what they describe as a “toxic” environment at This Morning.

All were too scared to come forward, but it was revealed the show’s Friday presenter Ruth Langsford made an official complaint against Phillip, 57.

It follows Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden’s allegation that Phillip got her banned from presenting on the show.

One household name said: “For so long people have been silenced because they are scared for their job. If they speak out publicly about the atmosphere they fear there could be repercussions.”

She told us: "Phil and I met on this show. There's a lot of history. You’re going to set me off."My kids really love the show as well. I get quite emotional thinking about it. All of them were carried in my tummy on this show and when we finished I always went off and had the babies."

Phil then opened up about the pressures of two huge prime time shows with his on-screen partner.

He said: "The thing is, This Morning is an entirely different thing. It’s different muscles, different speeds and different thoughts.

"You get nervous; Dancing on Ice is a big show. You want to make sure it’s right. But we have the easy job really, at least we’re not risking life and limb on the ice."

Yesterday, This Morning viewers claimed Holly and Phil were "trying too hard" on the show after their backstage tensions were revealed.

One person remarked on Twitter: “Omg they’re both trying a bit too hard.”

Another joked: "'F**k how can we distract everyone from the ongoing feud rumors with Phil',  ‘I know! Hear me out.. how about we just throw a fair randomly?’ Genius!”

Someone else added: “So is @Schofe and @hollywills going to make a comment on the elephant in the room? It's the only reason we are watching still right???”
