Grace Black (Tamara Wall) left Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) in shock in Hollyoaks as she booked an impromptu flight for herself and son Curtis.
The reformed gangster, who runs nightclub The Loft, has focused her attention on planning a heist in recent months, in a bid to help Cindy get her hands on enough money to restore the market to its former glory.
With some assistance from flatmate Zara Morgan (Kelly Condron), the duo have meticulously planned the crime, which will see them ambush and rob an armoured van.
The events of this week, however, have thrown something of a spanner in the works, with Grace growing tired and fed up of Cindy’s alleged incompetence.
When son Curtis and Cindy’s own son Hilton ended up in possession of the teddy bear which houses her gun, Grace lashed out at her best mate, stating that she was officially dropping out of the heist plan.
Cindy, however, refused to cancel the robbery, claiming that they’d come too far to back out now. After some persuasion, Grace decided that she would take part in the crime once more, but it seems that her previous excitement for breaking the law has started to wane somewhat.
Could Grace be ready for a new adventure?
Thursday’s (June 15) first look offering of the Channel 4 serial drama saw the character secretly book a flight for herself and son Curtis.
Cindy spotted the booking on her mate’s laptop and wasted little time in confronting her, with Grace thinking swiftly on her feet, claiming that she’s simply taking a trip to see Courtney Donovan (Amy Conachan) and that she’ll be ‘back in a few days’.
Cindy bought Grace’s tale. We, however, know there’s more to it. Firstly, last we heard about Courtney, she’d taken a deputy head position at a school in Scotland. Grace’s booking, however, is for Rio de Janeiro.
Is an exit story brewing for Grace?
With no family left in the village and The Loft currently in Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) and Sienna Blake’s (Anna Passey) hands, perhaps the gangster will decide that it’s time to call it a day after she pulls off her final criminal caper in robbing the armoured van with her pals?
Could Grace perhaps be set to use her share of the money from the robbery to fund a new life for herself and Curtis abroad? Will THE Grace Black leave Hollyoaks after a decade?
Hollyoaks continues Friday June 16 at 7pm on E4 or stream the next episode from midnight on All4.
