TLC'S Sister Wives vary in age from 43 to 52.
They all met their husband Kody Brown when they were relatively young and active in the Mormon church.

Who is Kody Brown?
Kody Brown is the patriarch of the polygamist Brown family.
He is originally from Wyoming.
Polygamy is a marriage of more than one woman to the same man.
Kody has been married (formerly legally and now spiritually) to Meri for 31 years, Janelle (spiritually only) for 28 years, and Robyn (formerly spiritually and now legally) for 11 years.
His fourth wife, Christine, announced that she is leaving Brown but the couple will continue to actively co-parent their children.
On November 2, 2021, Kody took to his Twitter to formally announce their split:
"Christine's decision to leave comes with a great deal of sadness.
"We enjoyed many years together and I have a large amount of respect and admiration for her.
"Although we are moving forward on different paths, we will always remain committed parents."
In other words, Kody now has three “wives” but is only legally married to Robyn.
The only legal marriages have been between Kody and Meri until their legal divorce in September 2014, and to Robyn in December 2014.
It's not clear what Kody does for a living to support his wives and their children.
Back when the series began airing in 2010, Kody declared that he worked in online ad sales.
He did not release any more details beyond that.
Nowadays, his name is questionably attached to the now-defunct computer programming company, Bricksoft.
Dan Hundaus Firearms and Accessories also pops up under his name.
Kody Brown Family Entertainment LLC is currently the only active company attached to the Utah native's name.
Details of this company are nonexistent, so Kody's source of income beyond the show remains elusive.
What is Sister Wives about?
Sister Wives is an American show on TLC that premiered in September of 2010 and follows the Brown’s polygamist family.
In the family, there is Kody Brown, the father, his multiple wives, and their 18 children.
The clan, originally from Utah, relocated to Las Vegas and Arizona so that they could continue practicing polygamy.
The Browns are part of a sect of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or Mormon religion.
They lived in fear of being arrested because of strict anti-polygamy laws in Utah, which prompted their move to Flagstaff.
Meri, Kody's first wife, seems to have moved on from the spiritual marriage and is living a new life without her husband of over 30 years.
Kody and Meri have been open about the demise of their marriage on Sister Wives, as she admitted their relationship has been “pretty rocky for a while.”
Their relationship seemed to begin to fall apart when Kody divorced her in 2014 to legally marry fourth and “favorite” wife Robyn so he could adopt her children from a previous relationship.
Meri hasn’t posted photos with her husband in over a year and even snubbed their milestone 30th wedding anniversary in April of last year.

Janelle is 52, Christine, is 49, Robyn is 43, and Meri is 50.
How did they meet Kody?
According to a clip from the show, Kody explains that growing up, his father converted to a religion that embraced polygamy.
When he was 22, he began going to church, where he met Meri, then 19.
Meri's dad was a polygamist. Kody explained that the two "discussed the [polygamist] lifestyle all the time," where he eventually ended up converting and marrying Meri.
Janelle, Kody's second wife, grew up in the mainstream Mormon church and met Meri's family when she was 19.
Janelle described Kody and Meri at the time as her "novel polygamist friends."
She said was 22 when she decided to join the family.
Christine, Kody's third wife, was friends with Kody and Meri for years before she and Kody got married.
She explains that she "loved him a ton" and he "kind of loved her," and the two went back and forth for years before they joined in spiritual union.
Kody and Meri were at a friend's house when they met Robyn.
Meri explains that she and Robyn "kind of clicked" as she got to know her better.
Upon learning that she wasn't married, Meri encouraged Kody to "think about [Robyn]."
Now married, Robyn describes Kody as her "soulmate."
