I met my boyfriend on Dinner Date but dumped him nine years later – he never cooked for me once | The Sun

A COUPLE who met on Dinner Date and event got married have split after the hubby never cooked again.

The hit ITV show saw contestants getting a chance to go on three blind dates and fill up on meals prepared by the dates themselves.

Two daters who met on the show – Jemma Simpson and Edd Rodgers – wooed each other with the cooking skills.

The couple went on to marry and have one kid together.

However, Jemma has revealed they've now split up – and Ed never cooked for her again.

"He cooked for us on the show but then he didn't really cook me a single meal since," she told The Mirror. "Neither of us are amazing cooks, Edd tended to just put things in the oven.

"He's never cooked me a three-course meal since, put it that way. He was quite good around the house, with the dishwasher and stuff.

"Although when he comes round now to see our daughter I usually still end up cooking for him now."

On a serious note, Jemma revealed they split up as they both drifted apart and started sleeping in separate bedrooms.

Meanwhile, one former Dinner Date contestant has revealed the conversations are scripted – and the food is also cold.

The former contestant said: "Every time conversation would flow somewhat naturally, we'd be told to stop talking, and to ask each other scripted questions.

"We also weren't allowed to eat our food at the same time, for continuity, so the food was freezing cold by the time either of us got to take a bite."
