Im A Celebs Boy George under fire for stealing spotlight moments after Jill Scott won

ITV's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!'s Boy George has been accused of "stealing the spotlight" after Jill Scott's win.

Along with his other campmates, George, 61, was present for the show's final as Jill took home the crown yesterday, Sunday 27 November.

While many fans were ecstatic over Jill's win, some viewers couldn't help but notice George throwing his drink in the air to celebrate the announcement of the Queen of the jungle.

Taking to Twitter, one person said: "Boy George trying to make it about him by chucking his drink? #ImACelebrity."

A second wrote: "Boy George throwing his drink over himself cuz the attention is on somebody else #ImACeleb."

"Boy George wanting the spotlight by chucking his drink #ImACeleb," another added.

Boy George and the rest of the evicted I'm A Celeb campmates have remained in Australia.

This comes after George's camp denied reports that he was not allowed to fly back to the UK after his I'm A Celeb exit and before the final.

A spokesperson from George's team said in a statement: "George is enjoying the time in the hotel with his family. He has no interest in going home early."

A source had previously told MailOnline: "He wanted to go home immediately, he doesn't want to hang around. If he had his way he would be on a plane already but he wasn't allowed to do that.

"His aim of going into the jungle was for the world to see the stripped back version of him, no hair, makeup, costumes, or hats – he didn't actually care how far he went in the competition.”

They added: "The fact he has to stay in Australia for days now is an annoyance to him, he isn't fussed about sticking around for the final but that's what he has to do.

"He's travelled across the world his entire career and has seen Australia before so there's really no reason for him to be here, especially as he isn't concerned with catching up with his co-stars on the other side."

George, who was the fourth campmate to be evicted, also became the first I'm A Celeb contestant to not do press after his exit.

The stars normally appear on daytime TV after their elimination, however an insider told the Mirror that the singer won't do his first interview until he returns to the United Kingdom.

Following his lead, Matt Hancock also didn't appear on Good Morning Britain today, Monday 28 November, despite the the three finalists normally appearing on the talk show.

It's been said that Matt will also do an interview once he returns to the UK.
