Inside Gardeners' World star Frances Tophill's life off screen – from surprise link to Gogglebox faves to full-time job | The Sun

GARDENERS’ World star Frances Tophill is very private about her life off-screen, leaving much space for people's assumptions.

The garden lover doesn't spend all her time in the backyard, as we reveal what she gets up when she's not in front of the camera filming for Gardeners' World.

Frances revealed she found a passion for gardening after her mum gave her a planter, which she turned into a terraced landscape at the tender age of 7.

The 34-year-old has been a presenter on the show since 2016 and has become a fan favourite among viewers.

The professional gardener is ardent about sustainability and conservation and has planted trees for Moor Trees in Devon and the Conifer Conservation Project in Edinburgh.

As well as her booming TV career, Frances works a regular day job 5 days a week at The Sharpham Trust as head gardener.

The TV star is a published author and has released many books, including Rewild Your Garden: Create a Haven for Birds, Bees and Butterflies and The Modern Gardener: A Practical Guide to Gardening Creatively, which hit the shelves in 2022.

The Gardeners' World live website also wrote about her personal life in their website stating: "Frances is also a budding crafter and enrolled in a pottery course."

When asked about her TV career and personal life, the BBC star told Hello Magazine: "I have always struggled with just being a TV presenter.

"I don't feel it's authentic, and I don't get to do the thing I love, which is working outside and being with people on my own terms without there being a camera in my face."

"I am always keen to make sure I am working for real as well. I have to book holidays when I want to go away for filming. But Gardeners' World has been very accommodating."

Frances's romantic life and relationship status are unknown as she tends to keep her romantic life private and out of the public eye.

Back in March, The Sun looked into who the presenter was and answered some of the burning questions people may have about the star.

Gardeners' World airs on Fridays at 8pm on BBC Two
