Inside ‘haunted’ £800k Escape to the Country mystery mansion that ‘blew couple’s minds’ | The Sun

A COUPLE who appeared on Escape to the Country had their 'mind's blown' by an £800k 'haunted' mansion.

During a recent episode of the BBC One show viewers were introduced to couple Grace and Joe.

The show sees buyers looking to relocate to the countryside shown a selection of properties broadly within their budget.

And money was no object for Grace and Joe who were relocating back to the UK from Florida.

While the pair said at first they were looking for a modern home, their minds were changed when they were shown a Victorian property.

They had a budget of £800,00 as presenter Alistair Appleton got to work.

As they were shown the grand Cheshire home, they were taken aback.

Joe joked:" Wow, it's haunted!" while Grace said: "It's very grand, I'm definitely intrigued."

The property wasn't short of space as there was a huge dinning room, along with a kitchen-dinner.

Upstairs the home boasted six bedrooms and three bathrooms.

"I'm blown away a little bit by the possibility of accepting something like this," remarked Joe after viewing the abode.

As Grace saw the master bedroom she said: "It's surprise after surprise, everything is like 'wow'."

The house was on the market for offers starting from £800,000.

But despite being drawn in, the couple ultimately chose not to place an offer on the house.

"The mystery house was a little bit too much for us," Joe explained. "It's just too much house."

While he said it was their 'favourite' he said it would have suited them if they had three kids and it wasn't just the two of them.

Escape to the Country airs on BBC One and iPlayer.
