Inside Joe Baggs’ life – leaving Gogglebox, OnlyFans snub and pals with Rita Ora

Known for his charming personality and hilarious anecdotes influencer Joe Baggs rose to fame alongside his family on Channel 4's Gogglebox.

Hailing from Essex, the family of four, which includes dad Terry, mum Lisa and Joe's brother George, entertained viewers across the nation when they first joined the show in 2020.

But fans were left stunned when the family announced that they were leaving the programme after three series due to other work commitments.

In a family statement, they said: "With lots of exciting opportunities approaching us all, we just couldn’t commit to filming another series, but are so grateful for the opportunity."

But since then, Joe has been booked and busy and was recently backstage at this year's Eurovision Song Contest interviewing the stars of the annual event.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Joe let us know what he's been up to.

Rita Ora friendship

Joe and his brother George host a weekly podcast called, Not My Bagg and through this, he has managed to forge a friendship with the likes of Rita Ora and N-Dubz.

Talking about his friendship with Rita, George said: "I think Rita is amazing and I've worked with her a fair few times now.

"I even performed on stage with her at a gig, which is crazy!"

He later added: "It started off just making a bit of content for a new song then I ended up meeting her recently, making some stuff with her and she's got an album coming out and I heard some of the songs and I think she's amazing.

"It's been a really fun thing to work with her!"

Joe also mentioned that he hopes Rita will take him along to next year's Met Gala.

Leaving Gogglebox

After his family's abrupt exit from Gogglebox, Joe was also asked whether he would consider making a return.

But due to his current work pressures and his newfound fame, the TV personality revealed that he may not be able to make a comeback in the same way.

He said: "I always have a special place in my heart for Gogglebox because I'm such a big fan of the show even still and I love it so much.

"I think that where George and I have gone, mum as well from leaving is that were kind of at this point now I don't think we could go back as a normal family because I don't think we are now in terms of the dynamic of all of us and what we've been doing since.

"But you know, if there was a fun special and we did like bringing old families back and like a celeb style one, it would be amazing to do something like that," he confessed.

Distant contact with cast

Joe was also asked if he still keeps in contact with his Gogglebox co-stars and mentioned that he sometimes still speaks to Brighton based duo Stephen Webb and Daniel Lustig.

Speaking candidly, he said: "So I keep in touch with- not too often but when we do- Stephen and Daniel from Brighton, they pop up on my stories and things like that which is nice.

"And I still watch the show and love the show."

He added: "But it was a weird one because we joined during Covid so we didn't actually get to mix or meet any of the other families which is disappointing but it's been an odd one."

Crazed fan encounters

The TV personality also gave insight into when experienced a peculiar encounter with a Gogglebox fan.

He said: "There have been like moments in the street where people have said 'can I come round and sit on your sofas?'

"Or 'can I come round to have a glass of wine with your mum' you know things like that but to them it's so sweet. I do think it's genuinely sweet but to me from an outsider's perspective, it's like really."

OnlyFans snub

When asked if he would ever consider doing OnlyFans at any point in his career, Joe mentioned that he would probably give it a miss.

He said: So for me personally, I'm very much like do what you want to do.

But for me personally, I couldn't especially because I'm so close to my family. I wouldn't want anyone seeing anything like that from me.

"But I know people that do it and they're really successful doing and I think good for you but I'll stick to like heading to Rita Ora's house and bugging her.
