WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD FOR NO TIME TO DIE. Daniel Craig’s fifth and final James Bond movie has been out in cinemas for almost two weeks now and 007 fans have been spotting No Time To Die’s parallels to 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

No Time To Die features a slowed-down version of the instrumental theme for On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, but also Louis Armstrong’s We Have All The Time In World.

And while Lazenby’s only Bond movie saw 007’s wife Tracy murdered, in No Time To Die it was Ian Fleming’s spy himself who perished while his lover lived on without him.

In fact, just before Craig’s Bond died he echoed the final words of Lazenby’s 007 but with a spin saying to Madeleine: “You have all the time in the world.”

Now the 82-year-old has asked Craig for his thoughts on their more emotionally in-touch Bonds and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Hosted by The Guardian, Lazenby asked: “Daniel, we both made our 007 debuts in films based closely on Ian Fleming’s source novels.

“What do you think about Fleming’s work and the challenge for an actor of imparting some genuine human feeling and emotion in the material?

“What do you think of my attempt in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service?”

To which Craig replied: “It’s one of the best movies because it had a love story.”

Craig added: “And what is life without love? I kind of lifted from Fleming Bond’s ambiguity, conflict and passions.

“You could take 1952 passions or you could just transpose them to modern passions.

“And that’s what I did. He loves, he cares, he’s honourable, he’s incorruptible and I love that he’s a complex character.”

Having attended a screening in Los Angeles, Lazenby gave his verdict on No Time To Die.
