Speaking on This Morning, James Martin told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield he was excited to get back to work however, he worried about whether or not he’d be able to get his hands on fresh produce. He explained after the first lockdown he was unable to get lemons or scallops, adding he is unsure of how the whole hospitality sector will deal with shortages in supplies.

“With the fishing industry, even now I’m struggling to get scallops,” James revealed. “And that’s just me.

“When you think about the whole hospitality industry, when that fires up, we’re does the food come from.”

Phillip commented: “Well the last lockdown you couldn’t get lemons.”

“The last lockdown I remember July the 4 we struggled to get lemons. I’m being serious,” James continued.

“If you combine that with everything that fires up. The answer is I cannot wait to put the chef’s jacket, I cannot wait to get back into the kitchen.

“It was the thing I fell in love with when I was eight years old and I cannot wait to be doing it again.”

“Well you’ve got Brexit as well haven’t you?” Phillip probed.

James nodded: “You’ve got that, you’ve got supply chain from into Europe and all around the world. Who knows what’s going to happen.”

Later on, Phillip asked if James had got oil on the top of his bakes but the TV chef hit back insisting it was sugar.

“It’s sugar, butter and,” he began to explain but Phillip interrupted: “It’s just while you were making those you told us you were changing an exhaust.”

“Yes, I said to you off air but now you’ve said that, a lot of people don’t know but where I film the Saturday show it is actually my garage,”James explained.

“There was a car in the garage studio with a kitchen. I was making this and changing an exhaust at the same time.

“I did wash my hands in between those.”

Turning to the camera, Phillip asked: “Could you do me a favour? Could you get health and safety down here?”

James laughed at Phillip’s teasing but Holly couldn’t wait to get her hands on the chocolate orange tear and share delight.

The bun was a cross between a buttery croissant with gooey chocolate orange and sweet pastry.

Those watching James make the delicious treat at home were hocked by how much butter he had included in the recipe.

“James Martin secret ingredient? BUTTER!! #ThisMorning,” one viewer posted on Twitter.

Another added: “Oh James you filthy beast that looks divine ! #ThisMorning.”
