She wrote on Instagram: "We had a an extra special reason to #clapthecarers in our house tonight but there’s a special reason for us all isn’t there.

"Thank thank you to all the health workers caring for our loved ones and key workers keeping our lives going. ???you are incredible."

Her co-star Susanna Reid commented with a heart while her fans sent her their support.

Yesterday The Sun's Dan Wootton exclusively revealed Kate has been forced off ITV show GMB because she has symptoms too and is now self-isolating with her children.

She is “sick with worry” about former Labour adviser Derek, 52, who is believed to be seriously ill.

He was taken to hospital in Monday, where he tested positive for Covid-19, and still remains in intensive care weeks after Kate spoke about her fear of one of her loved ones contracting the virus.

A source revealed: “This is a desperate situation for Kate who is sick with worry about Derek’s health.

“He is intensive care battling coronavirus and for obvious reasons she is beside herself.

“Kate has symptoms herself too but they are mild so she is self-isolating at home with the kids.

“She is obviously off TV too. Everyone at GMB is so worried for her.”

Kate had recently bagged a chat show with fellow I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! contestant Myles Stephenson, 28, in which she would invite cameras into her home.

At Home With The Garraways is set to launch later this month.

A spokesman for Kate said: “Kate’s husband Derek Draper has been taken to hospital and is being treated in intensive care with a confirmed case of Covid-19. He was admitted on Monday and has since tested positive for the virus. Kate hasn’t been tested however she has also been displaying mild symptoms, also since Monday, and as a result has been on strict isolation with her children at home."

Last month she revealed her fears after meeting with Prince Charles at the Prince's Trust Awards just days before his coronavirus diagnosis.

She said: "I actually saw him on the 11th of March. It was the first day he'd stopped shaking hands, and we did the namaste greeting at the Prince's Trust."

As footage of their meeting played out, she continued: "We're relatively close there, as indeed were all the other people that were involved in that.

"I don't have any symptoms, so I'm not blaming him for anything at all, but people are going to be concerned. He's a man that meets a lot of people."

Derek was a lobbyist and political aide to former Labour cabinet minister Peter Mandelson in the Nineties.

He also presented a show on talkRADIO.

Derek has published books including Blair's 100 Days and Create Space.

Last May he announced his resignation from the Labour Party after more than 35 years of membership.

He cited leader Jeremy Corbyn, the party losing its way and called it “basically stupid” in a statement for his reason over quitting.

Derek and Kate married in 2005.

They have two children together – Darcey, 14, and William, 11.

Whilst she was in the I’m A Celebrity jungle last year he posted a hilarious picture on Instagram saying he was struggling in the kitchen without her.

He said: "Mum Kate Garraway is in the jungle. Dad has never cooked a proper meal in his life. Daughter demands her usual Sunday roast, ‘Mum would do it if she were here’. So dad's doing his best, though you might spot a few cheats. Any suggestions for shortcuts for stuffing or does it have to go on the oven? #ImACeleb #Dadscooking #stillbetterthanjunglefood."
