Love Island fans launched a scathing rant as they believe ITV2 producers had an ulterior motive when they revealed Whitney and Lochan as the public's favourite couple.
During Wednesday's episode (July 19), Whitney and Lochan returned to the villa after saving Mitch and Ella from being dumped instead of Kady and Ouzy.
Their decision didn't go down well with the several Islanders, with Tyrique suggesting they made the wrong choice and Abi admitting she felt the couple with the strongest connection was sent home.

Later in the evening, Whitney claimed Abi's comments came from a place of bitterness over her situation with Mitch, shutting the 25-year-old down when she insisted it was simply fact.
As viewers watched the scenes unfold, several headed to social media to claim Whitney was "bullying" Abi.
One fan tweeted: "Listen, I’m not a fan of Abi but watching Whitney try to push her opinion as fact and then tell Abi she couldn’t have hers… which actually is factual, hurt a lot."
"Whitney is low-key bullying Abi and I'm not here for it," added a second person.
Another wrote: "Take my last tweet back Whitney being the fav with the public has went to her head. Bullying Abi & now calling Ella selfish over a shower?"
While a fourth echoed: "Mitch literally talking utter gobbledegook, & Whitney now bullying Abi!"
But other fans have suggested producers made the decision to tell Whitney she was the public's favourite on purpose and have now given her the "villain edit".
Revealing the public's favourite couple hasn't been done since series three, when Montana Brown was revealed as the favourite female Islander.
And a number of fans were certain this led to her "downfall".
Sharing their thoughts online, one fan wrote: "Announcing the favourites was a stroke of genius by the #loveisland producers. The two power couples starting to clash, creates a chance of Whitney potentially having a Montana like downfall."
A second added: "Yeah no , I’m NOT liking this narrative the producers are trying to make with Whitney now that people know she’s the favorite… & you FOOLS are switching up already with “the fav got to her head” or “she’s a mean girl” knowing how these producers are is crazy….. "
"The producers set Whitney and Lochan up by revealing that they were the public’s favourite. They’re trying to give Whitney the villain edit now," penned a third.
Someone else shared: "I’m a bit scared for them revealing Whitney is the most popular though. That’s how they set up Montana’s downfall in season 3."
