Marcel, who was close with Mike Thalassitis who was sadly found dead in a park in March 2019 after suicide from cocaine and alcohol use said that he experienced things similar to his pal.

He explained how it's important to have a good circle of friends around you if you appear on Love Island, before opening up further by saying: "I experienced something along the same lines as what Mike did before everything happened."

Adding that "when you feel like everything is crashing in, because at one point I was like going through a mad breakup, my nan passed away, I got robbed – all of these things, and trolls."

Marcel went on to say that if it wasn't for his friends and his mum and the people who told him that it would all be okay, he would have "imploded" from the cruel racist trolling.

"If I didn't have that and I was trying to put on a brave front, I probably would have imploded as well," he revealed.
