Former Love Islander Billy Brown, 23, appeared on last night's Love Island: Aftersun alongside Summer Botwe, 22, and Josh Samuel Le Grove, 22, for a debrief with TV host Laura Whitmore following his dramatic exit from the villa last week.
Billy first appeared in Casa Amor and was brought back to the main villa by Tasha Ghouri, 23, with whom he had detected an initial vibe. But he was dumped from the island last week after a blazing row with Danica Taylor, 21, caused his popularity with viewers to plummet.
Billy's vibe-o-meter was firing on all cylinders as he began getting to know the girls and in particular enjoyed some friendly chats with Gemma Owen, 19.
Though the pair seemingly just had some pretty ordinary chats, with Gemma insisting she wasn't interested, for Billy it seemed that was enough to declare vibes and it ruffled the feathers of Gemma's onscreen beau, Luca Bish, 23.
Love Island host Laura Whitmore asked Billy about his flirting with Gemma saying it had, "caused a little bit of tension." But pressed him on his feelings saying: "If Luca wasn't there do you think there could have been something?"
The roofing company director from Surrey, displaying his trademark cheeky grin, said: "It's not about whether it's there or not. Honestly. It is what it is. For me, if someone's giving me a vibe, I will bounce off of it."
Laura clarified: "So there was a vibe?" And Billy replied confidently: "She was giving me a vibe, 100 per cent, yeah."
Viewers were unimpressed by Billy's claims with one saying: "Billy still banging on about Gemma on #aftersun that there was a vibe."
Another penned: "Billy, the type of guy who insists a girl is giving him the come-on when she's simply being friendly."
A third said: "Billy is still fighting for this vibe with Gemma on aftersun?" Before his exit, Billy Brown’s family wanted him to come home from the “toxic” villa after he had an explosive argument with Danica Taylor.
Billy and Danica were exploring their connection but the ex-Love Islander admitted that he felt that they “hadn’t clicked”, despite having a steamy interaction under the duvet the previous night.
Feeling hurt and upset, Danica confronted Billy and called him a “pig”.
In the wake of the row, Billy’s family took to his social media page to address the incident, and called for him to come home from the “mad toxic villa”.
They penned: “First of all double standards is a thing. I feel Billy was probably put off from Danica's behaviour after the Snog, Marry, Pie game as she took it too seriously. It's a game."
The statement went on: "After this, he called it a day, and they both maturely dealt with it and moved on. Adam [Collard] tells the girls about the bedroom antics, Ekin-Su [Cülcüloğlu] joins in to stir it up even more and makes out like Bill has done something the boys and girls haven't been doing every morning since the show started. And didn't Danica tell the girls about it too? Oh yeah."
Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
