Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German) could be the one to finally take down new villain Michael (Tom Ellis) in the upcoming episodes of Lucifer.

The devil’s nefarious twin brother came to town in the latest season, and came close to tearing his life apart.

Although his initial plan of sabotaging Lucifer’s new relationship with Chloe Decker was foiled, he still managed to manipulate Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro) and even convinced the demon Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) to switch sides.

The twins finally went head-to-head in the midseason premiere, but they were rudely interrupted by the long-awaited arrival of their father, God (Dennis Haysbert).

As Lucifer’s love interest Chloe was revealed to have been blessed by the creator, via his angelic song Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), expectations are high for some major revelations when the two finally meet.

It’s still unknown when the last eight episodes of the current season will surface, but Lucifer fans may have already uncovered how Michael will be eventually defeated.

Chloe’s blessed status may prove instrumental in banishing Michael and restoring balance after viewers spotted some key clues in the prior episodes.

One perceptive viewer took to Reddit when they realised they may have cracked God’s master plan.

Reddit user diamo_ndrain posted: “I have a theory that God made Chloe to defeat Michael, either primarily or with Lucifer’s help.

“It’s possible Michael had been working on some plot that’ll be revealed in 5B for a while and God noticed and created Chloe to ultimately stop him.”

Although Lucifer’s manipulative twin brother has only just made himself known in the series, Michael has harbored a grudge ever since the Prince of Darkness launched his first rebellion against the Heavens.

Learning Lucifer had once again taken residence in Hell, Michael saw the perfect opportunity to turn his friends against him and ensure he could never return to Earth.

Of course, his first plan quickly failed, and Michael had to resort to a more physical approach in the most recent episode.

Depending on how long the resentful archangel’s scheme has been brewing, the omniscient God may have foreseen his plans and planted Chloe in Lucifer’s path to protect him in his darkest hour.

The fan also reasoned that Michael’s persistent targeting of Chloe may prove he already knows she could eventually cause him grief if he isn’t too careful.

They continued: “It’s possible Michael is targeting her because he thinks she’ll be an obstacle to him in the future. This could also explain why he keeps trying to break Chloe & Lucifer up.”

“If it ends badly she’ll probably not want to be around him or any other celestials, which would mean she’d be out of the way.”

Their relationship was certainly nearing rocky territory in the final moments of season five part one, as Lucifer’s inability to say ‘I love you’ remained unresolved.

Lucifer has some serious catching up to do with his Dad when the series returns, so fans are waiting on the edge of their seats to find out if the loved-up crime-solvers can reunite and put a stop to Michael’s plans.
